Anne’s bad hair day

Back in the days of the ‘Kizzy’ perm I decided to get one to fluff up my boring straight hair. My flat mate was a hairdresser and she said to finish work early and come to the salon on the Monday and the juniors could practice and I could get it done at a reduced price. I love getting my hair done and was away in a world of my own. I didn’t notice the time go by. Next it was time to take the curlers out. You could see that there were loads of tiny curls all over my head. Well not quite all over – only over the half of my head. The other side was still as straight as a poker.
The junior had run out of perm lotion so she had used a different brand but she had not mixed it right so it didn’t take. As it was so late I had to go home on the bus like that (half of me looked like Hair Bear from the Hair Bear Banana Bunch and the other half like a scalded cat) I was mortified. As I had no holidays left I had to go into work like that for a few days until the salon ow!
Owner had time to fix it for me. Believe you me, it was a long, long time before I plucked up the courage to get another perm.
