I burnt the soles of my feet when revising for my GCSE’s. I had to use burn cream and have my feet bandaged up and I couldn’t wear shoes for a week.

My burn story was a few years ago I had passed my driving test, and decided to take a friend down to brighton for the day, we picked some fab deckchairs on the beach it was a hot but breezy day, we took no sun protection, and the little shops wanted more than £15 for a bottle, well we weren’t that hot the wind was great….
Until we went to go home and we were burnt, we were so red our arms, legs and hairlines were all sore, we managed to get back to the car and slowly made it home (a 3 hour journey which was agony) only to collapse and home with sunstroke, £15 seemed so expensive earlier in the day, buy the end of our adventure I would have paid much more!!

When I was 15 (many years ago) I had a water fight with my friend and her brother in their back garden.
It was a very Hot sunny day, the next day when |I woke up all my skin on my arms was swollen to such an extent that it was impossible to move them and very painful
My parents took me to hospital where i was told I had developed an allergy to the sun and in future I had to be very careful in the sun
I am now extra careful in the sun and in all the years since that first incident it has only happened one more time when I stupidly fell asleep in the garden, my skin was more swollen than the first time, I looked like Mr Blobby without the yellow spots
Never again!

I recently went on holiday to Zante. Normally when I am out in the sun I use factor 30 however when we unpacked the cases we found that we had forgotten to bring my factor 30 and so I had to make do with the factor 8 that had been brought for the others.
I went for a swim on the first day and then slapped the sun lotion on and laid in my shorts and a vest on a lounger for an hour or 2. I nodded off. When I woke up I was slightly pink but thought nothing of it and went inside to get changed to go out for the evening.
We went for an evening meal and when we got back to the hotel room I needed the toilet, I went in the bathroom to pull my trousers down and halted. I couldn’t pull them down past the tops of my thighs where my shorts had been. When I finally managed to get them down the skin was red raw and burnt. One of my shoulders was the same only with scabs and scaly skin
It meant I couldn’t wear shorts for the rest of my holiday, and I couldn’t wear bra straps/vests/bikini tops or swimsuit straps on one side because they caused the scabs to come off and my shoulder to bleed so I was limited to what I could wear and do and ended up swimming in a tshirt for most of the holiday or having to wear a jacket in 35 degrees.

We went to the beach on quite a windy day, so I didn’t use any sun protection, but still managed to get sun burned.

I asked someone to help me put suncream on my back and shoulders, and they did. I thought I’d already done all the other bits I could reach, but I must have forgotten to do my arms, because that was years ago and I still have the scars!

A month before my wedding, I was sitting in my local park, enjoying the sun. Little did I realise that I was slowly cooking and come the end of the day I had a lovely mark where my straps of my vest top had been. Cue a massive stress the week before my wedding when it was still very visible, having a beautician try to fix it with a spray tan! I eventually had to wear a lace srug to cover it, although later in the evening I had so much champagne I didn’t care!
